Elizabeth Park in Hartford

Translucent RoseDrove down to Hartford, CT to see the blooming rose garden at Elizabeth Park. What a scorcher, 95 degrees with the humidity. Some very nice images using the 180mm macro lens and experimenting with the various camera modes. The best seems to be the time mode at 1/250s.

Shelley kept heading for the shade as the heat was intense. More roses are here.

Roger Williams Park in Rhode Island

Lipstick RoseWe drove down to Roger Williams Park in Rhode Island on our super humid and hot day. The huge park has a rose garden all in bloom and greenhouses for special plants. The swans and geese were enjoying the ponds in the heat. More photos are located here.

Charlestown in Boston

The ObeliskWent to downtown Boston to see the sights in Charlestown with the USS Constitution and climbed the 294 steps up to the top of the monument for a city view. Then I took a walk over to the north end and long wharf to enjoy the sun, then over to downtown crossing for some shopping.

Mr Smooches says 'no more computing'!

No more computing for you! One year! Will was away a few days and when he returned Smooches was glad to have his favorite dad back. He decided to lie on the laptop so Will would give him lotsa rubs and stop typing. Then he wanted to play with the mouse cord. Guess you are not getting the laptop back!

Washington DC

The CapitolWe took a trip to Washington, DC. so spent a couple extra days visiting the Smithsonian Museums. We went to the Air, Space Museum for the first time, and the Natural History and it's Orchid Express Exhibit. Best of all, the fabulous US Botanical Gardens.

Additional shots of The Capitol and the museums are here.
