4th of July in NYC

4th July FireworksFeeling a bit lazy with the long weekend so checked the rooftop and lots of people so we decided to head down to the South Cove esplanade in Battery Park. Seemed quiet this year for the big holiday and the fireworks even seemed short. Still had fun trying out the different camera settings.

Manhattan from New Jersey shores

Financial CenterSince the weather was so clear we contined to take the train over to New Jersey to see the cruise ships leave the harbour and the sunset on Manhattan. You can see our building is the orange/tan one on the far right. Click here for more pictures of the cruise ships passing and here for sunset on Manhattan.

Circle Line Cruise around Manhattan

Circle Line CruiseToday in NYC was perfect - bright and sunny, so we decided to hop on the 3 hr Circle Line Cruise around Manhattan. We tried to do this trip last year with my parents but the president was landing in his helicopter and they shut down all the bridges. Busy day on the water, speedboat poker run.

All shots are located here.

Bronx Rose Garden

The GazeboWe had to rush over to the rose gardens in the Bronx. Peak is near for these flowers...but still a magnificant sight! Lots of bees for Will to practice taking shots of. The perennials are in bloom as well and made for interesting shots.

Elizabeth Park in 2004

Pink RoseStopped by to see the roses at Hartford's Elizabeth Park on the drive to NY. Most of the roses are starting out late this year. Smooches wasn't enjoying the park (bit of a brat that day!) and got to sit in the car while Will clicked away.
