Got to visit Los Angeles to escape the winter here. Definately sunny there but it gets cool when the sun goes down. Visited LA Arboretum and Huntington Gardens to see the aloes in bloom. Took a drive to Hollywood and Beverly Hills to see the sites. Beverly Hills has large roads with gorgeous palms lining the street and the famous Rodeo Drive. The last day we went to The Getty Center which sits atop of the Santa Monica Mountains and overlooks the whole city.

Decided to take a trip to see the Christmas lights at Butchart Gardens. It had snowed which made it spectacular! Butchart hired ice skaters to perform and carolers to sing. It really feels like Christmas.

Decided to take a trip to see the Christmas lights at Butchart Gardens. It had snowed which made it spectacular! Butchart hired ice skaters to perform and carolers to sing. It really feels like Christmas.

The Victoria Model Airshow was held on Saturday. Models ranged from small electrics to giant gas-powered monsters spewing nicely scented smoke. In addition to the stunt planes, helicopters and interesting flying objects like the flying carpet and iron were flown.

We were a little surprised at the appearance of hundreds of hot rods driving up Bear Mountain on Saturday July 28th. The appearance was due to Deuce Days NorthWest. Hundreds of hot rods, and thousands of people invaded the golf course in the biggest show of hot rods I have seen yet.

It was a great opportunity to use my wide-angle lens - the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8. The lens provided fantastic perspective and was crystal clear.
